Job summary

Nightwing Information Technology seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to operate, develop, and improve cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure. You will support 20+ applications across multiple networks, building secure, scalable, and cost-optimized environments for development and operations teams.

Citizenship in the U.S. is required, and the role emphasizes automation, disaster recovery, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in IT operations, security, or development / DevOps.
• 4+ years Linux system administration experience.
• Experience with Windows system administration.
• 1+ year networking experience (TCP/IP, routers, firewalls).
• 1+ year in AWS or other cloud (Azure, etc.).
• Experience architecting services with AWS resources and automation tooling.
• Familiarity with IaC tools to deploy servers and apps (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Version control experience (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Strong verbal and written communication; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Use automation to provision and configure servers, services, apps, and security controls.
• Set up and maintain apps in AWS GovCloud and commercial, across Dev/Prod environments.
• Manage AWS resources (VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Control Tower, etc.).
• Lead technical projects with cross-team collaboration to deliver new capabilities.
• Follow disaster recovery and business continuity best practices for design.
• Manage Linux and Windows servers, including logging, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Provide IT Operations support for security monitoring, compliance, and auditing tools.
