Job summary

Nightwing Technologies, LLC seeks a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the operation, development, and continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure. You will guide architecture, automate provisioning, and mentor engineers across multiple networks to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

You will own patterns for DEV/TEST/PROD environments, manage cost and security posture, and drive best practices in automation and CI/CD across the team.

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years in IT (ops, security, dev, or DevOps) in hybrid or cloud-native environments.
• 4+ years Linux system administration in production and image hardening.
• Windows system admin in mixed Linux/Windows environments.
• 2+ years prod services in AWS or Azure with availability, performance, and cost ownership.
• Experience architecting services using AWS resources (VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, load balancers, ASG, security groups).
• Troubleshooting complex distributed cloud infra incl networking, IAM, containers, CI/CD.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code and config management tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Git/GitLab/Bitbucket for automation code and scripts.
• Leading technical projects with planning, estimation, cross-functional coordination.
• Strong communication and ownership to meet sprint deadlines.
• U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and design of core cloud platform capabilities in AWS GovCloud and Azure across three networks.
• Develop automation (Ansible, Terraform, Packer, GitLab CI/CD) to provision and secure servers, apps, and controls.
• Set up and maintain apps in AWS GovCloud and commercial AWS environments with standardized DEV/TEST/PROD patterns.
• Manage and optimize AWS resources (VPCs, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, Control Tower, LZA) for cost, resilience, and security.
• Lead end-to-end technical projects with cross-functional teams and clear implementation plans.
• Follow disaster recovery and business continuity practices for server, network, and security design.
• Manage Linux/Windows servers, implement logging, patching, and monitoring tooling.
• Provide senior IT ops support for security monitoring, compliance, and auditing tools.
• Partner with security/compliance to support audits and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and share cloud architecture and automation best practices.
