Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design and govern complex cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure. You will lead provisioning, automate deployments with Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates, and mentor team members while ensuring security and governance standards.

You will partner with application architects and engineers to migrate and optimize cloud workloads, leveraging analytics and telemetry to resolve issues and identify cost savings opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-years).
• 5-7+ years of relevant work experience required.
• 5+ years of engineering/integration experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
• Deep understanding of IAM and core IaaS services (compute, storage, networking).
• 2+ years with infrastructure as code technologies (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM templates).
• Strong analytical and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of cloud services that comply with security and technology standards.
• Act as product owner for cloud services owned by the Cloud Engineering team.
• Automate provisioning of cloud services using IaC and GitOps techniques.
• Document detailed service designs, usage, and troubleshooting processes for peers and consumers.
• Mentor peers and junior team members to share knowledge and best practices.
