Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to set technical direction for our cloud-native platform. You will own architecture across Kubernetes, distributed systems, and hyperscaler infrastructure at scale, partnering with senior leaders to drive best practices and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise running Kubernetes at scale (multi-cluster, multi-region, multi-tenant).
• Hands-on experience with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes offerings (EKS, AKS, GKE).

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and standards for Kubernetes and hyperscaler infra at scale across multiple teams.
• Own the hardest, most ambiguous technical problems in the platform domain—multi-cloud topology and control-plane design.
• Drive architectural decisions with senior leaders to enforce best practices across the platform ecosystem.
• Assess tradeoffs for managed vs self-managed substrates and multi-hyperscaler strategy.
• Personally design and build critical components—control planes, operators, infrastructure abstractions.
• Mentor staff and shape the next generation of technical leadership.
