ServiceNow is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead the Cloud Platform — Kubernetes, hyperscalers, and distributed systems. You will set the technical direction across engineering orgs, owning the hardest problems and guiding platform architecture for scale.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with leaders to advance Go-based cloud-native solutions. This hybrid role offers broad impact and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise running Kubernetes at scale (multi-cluster, multi-region, multi-tenant).
• Hands-on experience with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes offerings (EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Proven leadership across multiple engineering teams guiding architecture and direction.
• Expertise in operator/controller pattern, infrastructure-as-code and GitOps, CNI and service mesh.
• Strong programming skills in Go and fluency across cloud-native ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for cloud-native platform across multiple teams and define architecture and standards.
• Own complex platform problems including multi-cloud topology, control-plane design, workload isolation, identity and trust fabric.
• Partner with senior leaders to drive architectural decisions and adopt best practices.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks with executive visibility and tradeoff decisions.
• Design and build critical components like control planes and operators.
• Mentor staff and shape the next generation of technical leadership.
