Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Staff Cloud Network Engineer for remote, W2-capable contract work. You will lead secure, resilient cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS and Azure, implementing hub-and-spoke designs, Palo Alto firewalls, and infrastructure as code with Terraform.

You'll collaborate with Cloud, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and application teams to standardize connectivity, improve performance, and enhance observability for global enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, implementing, and supporting complex production network environments
• Advanced hands-on experience with AWS and Azure networking
• Multi-region, multi-account, multi-subscription connectivity experience
• Hands-on deployment of Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Experience with Python/Ansible for network automation

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS and Azure
• Architect multi-region connectivity using Transit Gateway, Cloud (WAN), Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute
• Develop standardized designs for routing, segmentation, and centralized inspection
• Design and deploy Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW/VM-Series with HA and integration
• Automate networks using Terraform and develop automation with Python/Ansible
• Establish Git-based workflows and CI/CD for network changes
• Mentor engineers on cloud networking, IaC, and troubleshooting
• Coordinate with vendors and participate in on-call rotations
