Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Staff Cloud Network Engineer for remote, contract work in the United States. You will lead secure, scalable cloud and hybrid network designs across AWS and Azure, implement firewall architectures, and automate with Terraform and Python/Ansible.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Cloud, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and application teams to improve observability and resiliency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, implementing, and supporting complex production network environments with significant cloud networking responsibilities.
• Advanced hands-on experience with AWS and Azure networking, with deep expertise in at least one.
• Design experience for multi-region, multi-account, or multi-subscription architectures and resilient hybrid connectivity.
• Hands-on deployment and management of Palo Alto firewalls in AWS and Azure, including Cloud NGFW or VM-Series.
• Expert understanding of BGP, routing policy, segmentation, firewalls, VPN, redundancy, and failure scenarios.
• Significant experience building and maintaining production infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience developing network automation with Python, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, peer review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives from architecture and design through implementation and operational handoff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of secure, highly available cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS and Azure.
• Architect multi-region connectivity and deploy Palo Alto Networks firewalls with centralized management.
• Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform and automate networking with Python/Ansible.
• Establish Git-based workflows and CI/CD for network change validation and deployment.
• Mentor engineers on cloud networking, IaC, automation, and advanced troubleshooting.
