Job summary

ID.me seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Core Platform Engineering group. You'll build automated reliability tooling, observability, and governance to safely scale and operate AI-enabled services.

You will design guardrails, ensure resilience, and partner with software teams to meet SLIs and SLOs. Based in Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA, this full-time in-office role requires 5 days per week on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3-5 years of Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• 2+ years managing and scaling services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• 1+ years proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Ruby, JavaScript).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated reliability tooling, IaC, and observability systems.
• Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Implement automated architectural reviews and reliability guardrails for agent-developed apps.
• Collaborate with engineering to design scalable, fault-tolerant systems with defined SLIs/SLOs.
• Automate operational tasks and develop self-healing and auto-remediation mechanisms.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response with post-incident reviews.
• Improve deployment and release processes using CI/CD pipelines and progressive delivery.
• Champion observability and operational readiness reviews in development.
• Work with Security and Compliance to meet FedRAMP, NIST, and internal policies.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and internal tooling for cross-team knowledge sharing.
