Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Tech Lead Manager for the Data Platform team in Mountain View, CA. You will own architecture and people leadership for data infrastructure, focusing on PostgreSQL clusters and the in-house Identity Trust Graph database.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
8+ years of total software/infrastructure engineering experience, with at least 3 years in engineering management or tech lead capacity leading teams of 5–10+ engineers.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, site reliability, or platform engineering.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the data platform's architecture and operational standards for high availability of PostgreSQL clusters and the in-house graph database.
Implement robust SRE practices for data tier including clustering, replication, failover, DR, automated provisioning, and zero-downtime migrations.
Monitor and optimize platform services for latency, throughput, and cross-region availability; guide data model and schema design across relational and graph systems.
Drive roadmap delivery, set priorities, remove blockers, and ensure reliable data tooling and automation.
Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team; conduct performance reviews and support career development.
Partner with Security and Compliance teams to enforce data governance, minimization, lineage tracking, and access controls.
