Job summary

Otava seeks an experienced Implementation Engineer to lead technical customer implementations across cloud, infrastructure, backup, DR, networking, and security. You’ll deploy, configure, validate, and document environments while ensuring on-time delivery per design.

The role partners with Manager of Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Technical Services, and Customer Success to transition projects into operations, supporting ongoing success and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with managed services, hosting, or cloud providers.
• Experience working on customer-facing technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute customer implementation projects according to approved Statements of Work.
• Install, configure, migrate, and validate cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Perform implementation activities for compute, storage, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and security services.
• Participate in project kickoffs and technical planning sessions.
• Ensure implementation milestones are completed on schedule.
• Deploy VMware, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Configure backup and disaster recovery environments.
• Perform customer migrations with minimal disruption.
• Execute system testing and validation before customer acceptance.
• Troubleshoot implementation issues and coordinate resolution with Engineering teams.
• Update implementation runbooks and technical procedures.
• Maintain project records within Jira and related project management tools.
• Document customer configurations and operational handoffs.
• Provide technical guidance throughout implementation projects.
• Participate in customer meetings when required.
• Communicate project status and technical risks.
• Ensure customer expectations remain aligned with implementation scope.
• Work closely with Solutions Engineering, Technical Services, and Customer Success teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and automation.
