Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support a DoW program. You will design, deploy, and operate highly available ground system architectures leveraging Linux/Windows, Ansible, and OpenStack/OpenShift in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, automate deployments, and harden systems while maintaining PKI and IDAM integrations. A Top-Secret/TS/SCI eligibility is required, with extensive DoD experience.

Qualifications

Active Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
4+ years with degree vs 8+ years without a degree per criteria; or 6+ years with Master’s.
DoD 8140 foundational requirements for System Developer.
Strong Linux/Windows OS concepts, from-scratch build and automation.
Configuration and deployment of services with security, certs, and authentication.
Experience writing and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks; scripting in Bash or Python.
Git collaboration, configuration management, and code reviews.
Experience integrating with IDAM systems (Active Directory, FreeIPA, etc.).
Direct experience with RHEL 9+ and OS hardening (SELinux); vulnerability patching.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with DoW customer and stakeholders across system lifecycle (development, integration, test, deployment, operations).
Build and deploy cloud instances and applications using automation tools.
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for rapid installation and patching in large environments.
Create system engineering documents, concepts of operations, requirements, and interface control documents.
Plan and design resource expansion to meet program needs; support ground system trade studies.
