Job summary

OnPay, a fast-growing cloud-based payroll SaaS company, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. You will design and maintain robust cloud infrastructure, automate provisioning, and lead our production systems’ evolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Expertise in AWS or GCP cloud architecture and service management
• Advanced experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration (Nomad a plus)
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Strong proficiency with databases like MySQL and MongoDB, MySQL replication
• CI/CD tools experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Monitoring/logging/alerting (Prometheus, ELK)
• Linux systems administration and network security

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud architecture using AWS or GCP.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and deployment.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Maintain and orchestrate containerized environments using Docker.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Establish and enforce security best practices across the infrastructure stack.
• Manage and optimize database infrastructure (MySQL, Mongo, Redis) for high availability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system observability and incident response.
• Participate in on-call rotation and production support.
