Job summary

PayJoy is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure in San Francisco to lead the team responsible for the company’s cloud infrastructure, developer platform, and foundational services.

You will align infrastructure investments with business priorities, drive scalable, secure platforms, and partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance, and Operations leaders to deliver software quickly and safely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software/infrastructure/platform engineering experience.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven experience building, operating, and scaling cloud-native platforms or developer infrastructure.
• Hands-on AWS experience and modern cloud architecture patterns.
• Strong DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, and platform engineering background.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for production environments.
• Strong software architecture, distributed systems, networking, storage, security, observability, and operational excellence knowledge.
• Experience balancing technical debt, infra investments, risk reduction, and feature delivery for long-term value.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term strategy and architecture for cloud infrastructure and developer platforms.
• Drive delivery of large-scale infrastructure initiatives with focus on reliability, scalability, security, and cost optimization.
• Establish processes, operating rhythms, service ownership models, and technical standards to improve execution and incident response.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Finance, and Exec leadership to align infrastructure with business goals.
• Foster accountability, inclusion, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
