Job summary

OnPay, a fast-growing cloud-based payroll and HRIS company headquartered in Atlanta, seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of the platform. You will design scalable cloud architecture (AWS/GCP), build robust DevOps pipelines, automate provisioning with Terraform, and lead production infrastructure initiatives across Docker, Kubernetes, and database stacks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Expertise in AWS or GCP cloud architecture.
• Advanced Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Terraform for IaC; CloudFormation experience a plus.
• MySQL replication experience required; knowledge of MongoDB/Redis helpful.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Linux systems administration and network security.
• Payroll/HRIS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud architecture using AWS or GCP.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and deployment.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Maintain and orchestrate containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and security; mitigate risks.
• Establish and enforce security best practices across the stack.
• Manage and optimize database infrastructure (MySQL, Mongo, Redis).
• Collaborate with engineering to improve observability and incident response.
• Participate in on-call rotation and production support.
