Job summary

Devopsroles is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to design and build backend services, distributed systems, and workflow orchestration for cloud infrastructure. You will own services from design through production, focusing on reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence.

You will participate in architecture discussions, guide technical decisions, and help build scalable systems that are easy to operate and evolve.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating high-availability, high-volume systems.
• Proficiency in Java or Python and knowledge of data structures and concurrency.
• Experience designing APIs, service contracts, and production-ready components.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerized services, observability and operational practices.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and operate production-grade cloud services.
• Build large-scale distributed systems with clear APIs, strong automation, and high availability.
• Develop highly scalable workflows for orchestration, automation, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Improve service reliability, observability, performance, and security at cloud scale.
• Reason about concurrency, state management, failure recovery, idempotency, latency, and throughput.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and operational readiness reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive long-term fixes.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar through thoughtful technical leadership.
