Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Nashville is seeking a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate the foundational distributed systems behind OCI, focusing on correctness, security, observability and dependable operation at global scale.

You will design and implement scalable data-plane services, strengthen reliability, run performance and fault-injection tests, and create automation with IaC while maintaining multi-tenant security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in professional software development; advanced degree may reduce years.
• Proficiency in OO or systems languages (Java, C++, C#, Go).
• Experience with scalable distributed systems or cloud infra.
• Experience with system-level testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and optimize components of distributed systems.
• Build for scale with replication, synchronization, and data processing patterns.
• Improve reliability with redundancy, failover, and timeouts.
• Develop performance and fault-injection tests; validate scalability and availability.
• Create dashboards, telemetry, runbooks, and automation for operations.
• Diagnose production issues, participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Develop IaC for safe maintenance and rollbacks; apply security controls in multi-tenant envs.
