Job summary

Oracle in Nashville is seeking a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, build, and operation of scalable distributed systems powering reliable cloud services. This role combines hands-on engineering with operational leadership and mentorship, and is based out of Nashville, TN.

The position requires extensive experience in core infrastructure, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security, and will involve defining SLOs, telemetry, and incident response.

Qualifications

• US-based role and expected to read/write/speak English
• 6-10+ years of experience in core infrastructure or distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Lead development and architectural evolution of scalable distributed-system components
• Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing
• Define scalability requirements and ensure designs meet them
• Design for elastic capacity and fault tolerance
• Implement data replication and synchronization for durability
• Mentor peers and participate in incident response and RCAs
