RapDev in the United Kingdom is seeking a Datadog Engineer to work with client environments across cloud and on-prem deployments. You will build monitoring solutions for Infrastructure, APM, and Logs, write automation scripts, and promote observability best practices.

The role emphasizes flexibility around client engagements, with a focus on AI-enabled observability and modern SRE methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in systems administration and Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, Go, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Comfort working across multiple projects and client environments.

This role exposes you to a wide variety of client environments across all cloud providers, on premise deployments and everything in between. This role requires you to be based in the UK or Northern Ireland.

What you'll do:

• Work closely with clients and team members from diverse backgrounds to deliver projects across a wide range of technologies.

• Build and architect cloud and on-prem monitoring solutions for Infrastructure, APM, Logs and more.

• Write custom scripts for automation depending on client needs.

• Design highly scalable, testable configuration patterns to incorporate in client environments.

• Influence and advise how companies can directly adopt best practices around observability, SRE and DevOps.

• Be on the forefront of leveraging AI in the observability ecosystem.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience with systems administration.

• Linux/Unix experience with on-prem or cloud systems.

• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Self-learner and eager to understand new technologies.

• Experience in a modern observability platform is a plus.

• Scripting/programming experience in shell, Python, Go, or PowerShell is a plus.

• Flexibility around US working hours as customer engagements dictate

• Flexibility around customer on site work as customer engagements dictate

Compensation:

• Base salary: £75,000-£95,000 annually, depending on experience
