Freedom Technology Solutions Group in Chantilly, VA is seeking a motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and secure cloud infrastructures supporting mission-critical operations. You will focus on security monitoring, threat detection, and DevOps practices across AWS/Azure/GCP environments.

The role involves IaC using Terraform, ARM, Ansible or BICEP; scripting with PowerShell, Python or Azure CLI; and coordinating with teams to ensure compliant, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of IT experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and/or development.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions using DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or Docker.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, or BICEP.
• Familiarity with cloud template technologies including GitHub Enterprise and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Experience automating workflows using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or JSON.
• Experience meeting security requirements in the Sponsor's environment or similar complex environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security) or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure across multiple environments with IaC.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud issues while applying security best practices.
• Leverage Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender, and Sentinel for security posture.
• Write and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.
• Configure network security groups and other controls to protect resources.
• Manage compute, storage, networking, and database services with security compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure fully functioning systems that meet requirements.
