Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructures in Chantilly, VA. The role emphasizes security monitoring, threat detection, and DevOps collaboration across teams to solve complex challenges.

The position requires 5+ years in cloud engineering, IaC proficiency (Terraform/ARM/BICEP), and DoD 8570 IAT 2 or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and/or development.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions using DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or Docker.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, or BICEP.
• Familiarity with cloud template technologies including GitHub Enterprise and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Experience automating workflows using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or JSON.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support AWS, Azure, Oracle, and GCP cloud services and infrastructure using IaC tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud environments while applying security best practices.
• Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel to maintain security posture.
• Write and maintain automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI; run via Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
• Configure NSGs, application gateways, and other network controls to protect resources.
• Manage compute, storage, networking, and database services with security compliance.
