Job summary

Amentum is seeking a cloud infrastructure engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud architectures with IaC in a secure environment. You will work on modernization and migration efforts, build reusable modules, and enforce standards.

You will monitor systems, optimize costs, and participate in DR/HA planning while collaborating with teams. A TS/SCI w Poly clearance is required, with a strong emphasis on Linux and container workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
• Experience designing secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
• Knowledge of containers and platform workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience monitoring/logging/alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch).
• Experience backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Experience secrets management (KMS/KeyVault/Secret Manager).
• Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance (tagging, budgets, autosizing).
• Experience networking (DNS, routing, VPN) security and service limits.
• Documentation of architectures and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with governance.
• Build reusable IaC modules (Terraform, Helm Charts) and enforce standards.
• Monitor health/performance; respond to incidents.
• Plan for backup, DR, HA; optimize costs and tagging.
• Contribute to architectures, runbooks, and procedures.
• Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies.
