Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, build, and support cloud-based infrastructure and applications across AWS. The role emphasizes observability, scalable architecture, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable platforms.

You will containerize workloads using Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes, automate provisioning with scripts, and contribute to resilience and performance improvements across SaaS and on‑premise integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT.
• 5+ years of professional cloud/platform engineering experience.
• Strong AWS services and cloud-native design expertise.
• Hands-on with Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Python or Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience with observability, logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud-based observability platforms (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Develop cloud-native applications using AWS services including serverless tech like Lambda.
• Implement and manage containerized workloads with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operations via Python/Bash scripts.
• Collaborate with engineering to onboard apps and promote observability best practices.
• Manage and optimize SaaS and in-house platforms; coordinate with vendors and tune performance.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot, ensure high availability of cloud platforms.
• Develop IaC to enable scalable, consistent deployments and faster CI/CD.
• Evaluate new tools to boost performance and efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers in cloud architecture and automation.
• Provide advanced production support across multiple cloud platforms.
