Job summary

Vanguard's Observability Engineering team is seeking an experienced engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native observability platforms across logs, metrics, and traces. You will work with AWS, Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes, and contribute to IaC/CI/CD to improve reliability and accelerate development velocity.

The role supports a hybrid schedule with onsite presence in Malvern, PA, Charlotte, NC, or Dallas, TX, and emphasizes collaboration across engineering teams and vendors to advance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years in cloud engineering or platform engineering.
3+ years with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
Hands-on with Docker and orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes).
Experience with observability tools (Splunk/OpenTelemetry/CloudWatch) preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and support cloud-based observability platforms.
Develop cloud-native applications using AWS services, including serverless.
Automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Promote observability best practices across engineering teams.
Collaborate with vendors and platform partners to advance the ecosystem.
