Job summary

TEK Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions and accelerators on AWS. You will work with architects and delivery teams to create secure, scalable cloud applications and modernize enterprise workloads.

The role emphasizes hands-on solution engineering with occasional travel for kickoff weeks. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams, code reviews, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud development or related technical roles.
• 3+ years' experience working with AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
• Experience developing serverless applications using Node.js-based Lambdas and the AWS SDK for JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, and S3.
• Python scripting with boto3 for basic AWS operations.
• Experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript) and IaC concepts.
• Experience with GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket for source control.
• Experience with multiple AWS compute environments (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda).
• Understanding of observability tools and monitoring in AWS.
• Strong IAM and security knowledge in cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (containers, microservices, service discovery, security).
• Familiarity with AWS services like API Gateways, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering using AI (Bedrock).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and communicate effectively.
• Associate AWS certification (Developer) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate solution patterns into high-quality, maintainable code from architects' requirements.
• Follow best practices and modern cloud architectures while building new or modernizing apps.
• Develop, test, and deploy modular accelerator code to streamline projects.
• Integrate security, networking, and observability features per designs.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback for improvement.
• Apply flexible logic and enhancements to base patterns from open-source or internal repos.
• Rapidly learn and apply new patterns and technologies to meet evolving requirements.
