Job summary

Early Warning Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer - Cloud Engineering to drive scalable, secure cloud infrastructure as we migrate from on-premise to AWS. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance cloud-native solutions with strong cost controls.

Role involves design, implementation, and optimization across AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM) with a focus on security, compliance (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC), and observability.

Qualifications

• Education/experience typically a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least 7 years in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles, with 3+ years AWS hands-on.
• Strong expertise in AWS core services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM) and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Hands-on Docker experience.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to market.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, secure coding, Agile/Scrum/LEAN.
• Experience with security & compliance controls (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC).
• Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Experience in observability at scale for complex transactional systems.
• Current AWS or other cloud-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Implements and optimizes cloud-native solutions with AWS and cost management.
• Designs infrastructure incorporating regulatory and security controls.
• Troubleshoots complex issues across stack layers and participates in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Ensures cloud environments meet PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC and supports audits.
• Implements disaster recovery for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Maintains cloud security best practices including IAM, VPC, encryption, KMS.
• Advances Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CI/CD practices.
• Supports vulnerability management and patching SLAs.
• Creates and maintains comprehensive cloud documentation.
• Implements robust observability: logging, alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
• Provides technical plans and backlog items from design through production delivery.
• Supports risk management and data security.
