Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, migrate, and maintain cloud environments, primarily AWS, with a focus on scalable IaC and high availability.

You will implement Terraform and CloudFormation pipelines, monitor systems with CloudWatch and ELK, manage secrets, and drive cost optimization while ensuring security and compliance. Amentum emphasizes strong governance and robust security practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services (compute, storage, networking, IAM)
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures
• Experience developing and maintaining IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, etc.
• Development experience with Java and React
• Knowledge of containers and platform workloads (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE)
• Experience configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch) and responding to incidents
• Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies
• Experience managing secrets and key management (KMS/KeyVault/Secret Manager)
• Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance and producing usage/cost reports
• Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure across networking (DNS, routing, VPN), security, and service limits
• Experience documenting architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Experience with Linux OS

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure following best practices and governance
• Build reusable IaC modules (Helm charts, Terraform) and enforce IaC development standards
• Monitor health and performance of infrastructure, log and alert for efficiency
• Provide failure/recovery strategies and cost optimization for cloud services
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance system capabilities
• Contribute to architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures with knowledge transfer
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend enhancements
