Job summary

DRUM Associates is seeking a seasoned Cloud and DevOps engineer to build and modernize cloud infrastructure in a regulated environment. You will implement Terraform IaC, run CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Security and Product teams.

You will focus on reliability, observability, and scalable architectures, supporting migrations across cloud platforms and documenting best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud/Platform Engineering, or similar role.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Hands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting and automation in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production environments and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, and operational best practices.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems with incomplete documentation.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor others.
• Ability to balance modernization with established processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes.
• Support migration and modernization within Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Build, manage, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps.
• Develop automation and scripting solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Troubleshoot production and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Improve monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational processes.
• Review technical work and help establish engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Improve technical documentation and reduce tribal knowledge.
• Partner cross-functionally with Security, Infrastructure, Development, Product teams.
• Evaluate processes and opportunities for modernization and automation.
• Work in a regulated environment with security, controls, and change management.
