Job summary

The Northern Trust Company is seeking a Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer to join the Cloud/Platform Scrum team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable Azure infrastructure, automate CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and drive containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.

You will collaborate with offshore teams to deliver secure, reliable software aligned with business goals. Candidates should have 5+ years in DevOps, strong Terraform Cloud and Azure experience, and a proactive, leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of DevOps/Software Engineering in distributed teams.
• Deep expertise with Terraform Cloud and Azure.
• Proficient in CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, Gradle, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with security, monitoring, and IaC best practices.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Management: design and manage scalable Azure infrastructure (AKS, FrontDoor, Key Vaults, APIM).
• CI/CD & Automation: develop and maintain automated pipelines (GitHub Actions, Gradle).
• Infrastructure as Code: provision infra with Terraform.
• Containerization: manage Dockerized apps and orchestrate with Kubernetes (AKS).
• Monitoring & Observability: implement Dynatrace and Azure Monitor for production systems.
• Security: enforce security controls and encryption across infra and pipelines.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: lead cross-team technical initiatives.
• Performance & Reliability: troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure high availability.
