Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer aligned to our Cloud/Platform Scrum team to design, build, and maintain scalable Azure-based infrastructure for the Wealth Passport GFO SaaS solution.

You'll implement automated CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and IaC with Terraform. You will collaborate with offshore teams, reinforce security practices, monitor and troubleshoot production systems, and drive performance improvements while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of DevOps/Software Engineering in distributed teams.
• Proficient with Terraform.
• Deep expertise in Azure.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Gradle, Maven).
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting in Python, Go, Java, Bash.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers.
• Databases: Azure SQL, Snowflake, Oracle; Redis as needed.
• Messaging: Confluent Kafka.
• Experience mitigating code-quality/security scans (Sonar, Checkmarx, CAST).
• Familiarity with CI/test automation and test-driven development.
• Leadership mindset and cross-team collaboration.
• Azure DevOps/Dashboards and Confluence a plus.
• Experience in financial services a plus.
• AZ 104 certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based infrastructure for scalable cloud solutions.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Gradle).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes (AKS).
• Establish monitoring and observability with Dynatrace and Azure Monitor.
• Enforce security best practices and encryption at infra and pipeline levels.
• Collaborate across dev/ops teams and mentor peers on technical initiatives.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues to ensure high availability.
