Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead to own Workforce Authentication and Authorization. You will guide a team delivering identity and access management across cloud and on‑prem environments, enforcing zero trust, MFA, SSO, and risk‑based controls on Azure, AWS, and related platforms.

You will partner with security, engineering, and product teams to design scalable, secure authentication architectures, review vendor solutions, and mentor engineers in secure coding and threat

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and information security experience.
• Ten years in information security with five years as a tech lead.
• CISSP or cloud security certifications preferred; Azure/AWS certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Identity centric workforce security solutions team to develop authentication and access management.
• Drive identity solutions, access patterns, and modern security protocols with zero trust principles.
• Review security solutions and provide consultation to partners and IT management.
• Hands-on with Entra ID, Azure AD, OAuth/OIDC/SAML, MFA, and SSO implementations.
• Architect security for Java microservices, React frontends, and mobile apps on Azure/AWS.
• Support threat modeling, IAM governance, and incident response in cloud environments.
