Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own product delivery and forward planning for Cloud Data Solutions’ data products. You will translate business needs into a prioritized roadmap and backlog while contributing hands-on to data engineering, modeling, and integration across trading, assets, and operations.

The ideal candidate has a CS/Engineering degree, 5+ years building cloud data pipelines on AWS/Azure/GCP, strong Python/SQL, and proven stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in energy trading, asset management, or energy market operations.
• Minimum 5 years building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools, workflow orchestration, data transformation frameworks, APIs, and external system integration.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, data lineage, metadata, and documentation.
• Experience gathering requirements, refining user stories, managing a delivery backlog, and prioritizing a roadmap.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable with non-technical stakeholders.
• Hybrid work policy requires a minimum of 3 in-office days per week.
• Must comply with ENGIE ethics and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog and roadmap for data products.
• Translate business needs into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, the Data Office, and delivery teams.
• Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to leadership.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Develop data models, metadata, and documentation to support analytics and reporting.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and performance tuning for pipelines.
