Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Configuration Engineer for a 100% remote role supporting VA applications and cloud migration. The position requires strong CM and release engineering expertise in regulated environments.

You will lead build procedures, develop CM standards, train developers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliant, repeatable deployments across projects. US citizenship and Public Trust eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Experienced in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Proven ability to lead builds/releases in regulated federal environments.
• Strong knowledge of CM, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Familiar with source control, CI/CD, and artifact repositories.
• Experience with scripting for automation and IaC tools.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS products.
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks for documented parameters and compliant configurations.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Design and implement build procedures to support product development and use.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train software developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
