Eliassen Group seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to guide cloud architecture, integration, and security across hybrid/on‑prem to AWS. The role supports Scaled Agile teams, with emphasis on GovCloud, regulated environments, and AI‑assisted engineering. Hybrid in nature, US‑based, with W2 benefits for eligible consultants.

The position requires experience with ECS/EKS/OpenShift, security architecture, and DevSecOps toolchains; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven cloud architecture and technical planning for hybrid on‑prem to AWS.
• Hands‑on with Amazon ECS, EKS, and Red Hat OpenShift, incl. Kubernetes.
• Experience in regulated environments such as FISMA High or FedRAMP High.
• Security architecture with segmentation and control mapping to SSP/ATO.
• Networking across ingress, ALB, WAF, PrivateLink, and related patterns.
• On‑prem to AWS migration of containerized workloads with data connectivity.
• AWS GovCloud and multi‑account VPC design with DMZ and private tier.
• DevSecOps toolchain including GitLab, Tekton, Argo CD, SAST/DAST/SCA, SBOM.
• Scaled Agile collaboration across mixed teams.
• Familiarity with Java ecosystems and cloud‑native development in Linux.
• AI‑assisted engineering for development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning and cloud architecture for hybrid AWS designs.
• Conduct platform trade studies and sizing for ECS, EKS, OpenShift.
• Drive integration, verification and fielding in regulated environments.
• Design security architecture including trust boundaries and mapping.
• Enginee r networking patterns across ALB, WAF, PrivateLink and endpoints.
• Own requirements, technical writing, and white papers.
• Provide system and software design guidance within Scaled Agile teams.
• Lead hardware/software integration for Java/microservices ecosystems.
• Apply DevSecOps practices and policy as code.
• Incorporate AI for coding, testing, and debugging.
