University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking an engineer specializing in public cloud architecture with a strong background in traditional systems engineering. The role spans hybrid infrastructure across on‑premises virtualization and major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

You will design, deploy, secure, and operate workloads, manage virtualization and backup, and build automation through IaC. Strong collaboration with faculty, business teams, and vendors is essential.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree required; seven years of related experience in systems engineering.
• Strong depth in public cloud architecture and traditional systems engineering.
• Experience designing and operating hybrid on‑prem and cloud workloads.

Mansioni

• Design, deploy, secure, and operate production workloads across hybrid infrastructure.
• Manage virtualization platforms (Nutanix, VMware) and backup (Veeam).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and automation scripts.
• Provision GPU resources and support VDI and campus compute needs.
• Enforce security, IAM, and compliance across systems and cloud platforms.
• Monitor health, plan capacity, and drive disaster recovery activities.
