Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a software engineer for Wealth Technology in Wilmington, DE to design, build and operate cloud-native solutions for Wealth Management, Investment Management, Trust, Custody, and Advisory services. You will work across SDLC, create scalable APIs/microservices, and advance data pipelines and AI-assisted tooling.

The role emphasizes strong software engineering fundamentals, Azure platform mastery, and collaboration across teams to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience, or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience
• Advanced proficiency in minimum of 1 relevant programming language

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications using C#, .NET, and cloud-native Azure services.
• Build scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions supporting Wealth Technology products and business capabilities.
• Design and implement modern cloud architectures using Azure-native services and platform capabilities.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines supporting operational and analytical workloads.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to improve engineer productivity and solution delivery.
• Work independently and within the boundaries of the approved SDLC to process, design, and develop applications to solve business needs and minimize risks to the Bank by writing clean and resilient code.
• Regularly review pull requests, provide feedback, and execute on the change management of the request.
• Author organized, clean, efficient, and secure source code at an advanced level and apply data structures/algorithms to solve problems
• Utilize source code management tools to manage and deploy code/applications and ensure SDLC compliance
• Independently analyze and critique technical and business requirements to ensure completeness and feasibility
• Collaborate, document, and communicate technical implementation details clearly with other teams
• Conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback on code quality and improvements
• Contribute to conversations with business/technical stakeholders regarding architecture
• Adhere to risk/regulatory standards and identify risk issues for escalation
• Promote an environment of belonging and reflect the M&T Bank brand
• Maintain internal control standards and support audit/regulator points
• Complete other related duties as assigned
