The SHARP team at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a senior‑level Cloud & AI Platform Engineer (Systems Analyst VII) to provide deep technical expertise and architectural guidance for AWS‑based analytics platforms. Selected candidate must work from an HHS office in Austin, with telework possible.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with AWS
• 8+ years experience with Python
• 8+ years of experience with Linux systems
• 4+ years experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage SHARP AWS environment for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Support data engineering by designing and implementing data pipelines.
• Enable AI/ML and analytics deployments in cloud infrastructure.
• Develop Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and tooling.
• Serve as backup administrator for non-database platform components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data management standards.
• Resolve production incidents promptly to minimize disruption.
• Participate in meetings, track performance metrics, and support PM activities.
