Job summary

Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the IT implementation and engineering team in Boston. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based systems to boost firm-wide productivity while minimizing disruptions.

The candidate will work with automation and AI initiatives, manage cloud resources, and participate in an on-call rotation. Strong experience across Azure, containers, networking, and scripting is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related IT experience in a professional services environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Microsoft, cloud, and networking certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud, virtualization, and networking.
• Automation deployment, configuration, and management experience.
• Proficiency in Python or PowerShell with REST APIs experience.
• Experience with AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, AI systems, data governance, containers, DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, development, implementation, and migration of cloud and on-prem IT systems.
• Builds, configures, and maintains cloud resources, apps, and AI systems.
• Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture Manager on strategies, DR plans, and standards.
• Collects metrics and improves IT processes, security, and performance.
• Reports and resolves software, hardware, and operational issues.
• Researches and evaluates new technologies to improve operations.
• Participates in rotating 24/7 on-call for deployments and Tier 3 escalations.
• Provides day-to-day coverage during Eastern Time business hours.
