Job summary

Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to join the Tier 3 Operations team responsible for the Firm's IT systems, services, data centers, and operations.

This role focuses on analysis, recommendation, and execution of support and maintenance plans to maximize Firm-wide productivity, with emphasis on on-premises and cloud infrastructure. A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of IT experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related IT experience in a professional services environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft, cloud, and networking certifications are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud services, and networking.
• Experience with deployment, configuration, and management of systems using automation.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Supports operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT systems.
• Maintains on-premises and cloud environments, including servers and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee IT service delivery for infrastructure and pursue continual service improvements.
• Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for Tier 3 escalations and triage.
