Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor to lead and mentor our nursing team on site, reporting to Nurse Managers. This role provides daily clinical guidance, supports standardization of care, and ensures real-time problem solving for patients and staff.

The supervisor maintains an active clinical presence while performing administrative leadership duties, coordinating education, evaluations, and performance coaching across clinics, including satellite sites 1-3 times per

Qualifications

• OCN Certification (or intent to pursue within certification timeframe).
• Registered Nurse with management/supervisory experience or at least two years at Illinois Cancer Care.
• Must be willing to travel to satellite clinics as needed.
• Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems.
• Positive attitude and desire to help fellow nurses succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise about 20 nurses; adjust as needed based on circumstances.
• Educate and assess staff; ensure concepts and procedures are understood and followed.
• Develop tailored education with Nurse Educator for individual needs.
• Mentor new nurses during orientation and beyond.
• Assist with Workday tasks such as disciplines and timecards.
• Be available to answer clinical questions in the moment.
• Travel to satellite clinics 1–3 times per week as needed.
• Complete evaluations with Directors/Managers and participate in evaluations.
• Coach and discipline nurses with Nurse Managers.
• Ensure crash carts are checked and stocked; conduct monthly audits of clinics.
• Conduct desk RN audits monthly and maintain policy adherence.
• Take on special projects as assigned by Management.
