Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Senior Technologist to join our team, performing routine and complex laboratory testing and ensuring timely, accurate results for patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science and 4+ years of clinical lab testing experience, with ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Candidates must work Thursday-Sunday schedule as listed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits may meet education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
