Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist to join our team. The role requires working Monday–Friday, 5:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m. in a high‑volume lab environment with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instrumentation, and troubleshoot to ensure quality results that support patient care. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or MLS degree.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience, OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing per SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical testing decisions and perform QC.
• Report results to support patient care.
• Maintain safety and PPE and manage supplies.

Technologist – Labcorp (Burlington, NC)

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team. Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00p.m.–1:30a.m.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing, problem solving, and perform quality control.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.

Additional Job Standards

• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Computer proficiency; familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to pass a standardised colour‑blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
