MIDWEST TRANSPLANT NETWORK INC is seeking a Senior Clinical Specialist to serve as primary designee for clinical and technical duties under the CLS. Located at MTN Westwood in Westwood, KS, the role supports CLIA director responsibilities and ensures high-quality laboratory testing.

The position requires strong leadership, experience with high-complexity testing, and the ability to collaborate across teams to maintain compliance and precision in patient results.

Qualifications

• Meets personnel requirements for CLIA General Supervisor for High Complexity Testing.
• Doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• ACHI CHS or CHT certification and 5+ years HLA Laboratory experience.
• Minimum five years high-complexity clinical laboratory experience.
• Maintain competency via ACHI certification or 27 hours of continuing education each year, at least 50% in histocompatibility/immunogenetics.
• Work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 24-hour on-call.

Responsibilities

• Serves as CLIA General Supervisor and designee for CLIA Director.
• Performs clinical record reviews as designated by laboratory leadership.
• Participates in quality control, QA, regulatory compliance, safety and productivity of testing.
• Provides clinical support to laboratory staff and clients.
• Monitors test performance to identify trends and issues.
• Ensures remedial actions when tests deviate from specifications.
• Reviews proficiency testing and verifications within subspecialties.
• Provides guidance on test methods and verification studies.
• Contributes to departmental growth, procedures, and project reviews.
• Maintains professional relationships with MTN leadership and partners.
