Job summary

Midwest Transplant Network (MTN) in Kansas is seeking a Senior Clinical Specialist to serve as the CLIA General Supervisor and senior technical designee for high-complexity testing. The role supports clinical and technical duties, quality assurance, and client services, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

The position requires advanced degree in laboratory science, 5+ years of HLA lab experience, and ongoing professional certification maintenance.

Qualifications

• Requires CLIA General Supervisor qualification and high-complexity testing experience.
• 5+ years HLA laboratory experience.
• Must maintain ACHI certification or complete 27 hours CE annually, with ≥50% in histocompatibility/immunogenetics.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation per MTN policy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CLIA General Supervisor and director designee (non-doctoral) for CLIA Director.
• Perform clinical record review and oversee quality control/quality assurance activities.
• Monitor test performance and implement remedial actions when systems deviate from specifications.
• Provide technical guidance on test methodologies, validations, and proficiency testing.
• Participate in on-call services to support clients and laboratory staff.
• Maintain professional relationships with MTN leadership and external partners.
• Identify and report issues affecting test performance or patient outcomes promptly.
• Assist with system/method verifications and validations as delegated by CLIA Director.
