Job summary

Adventist Health Columbia Gorge in The Dalles, OR is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead laboratory testing, develop policies, and ensure accreditation and safety standards are met.

The role requires a Bachelor's in medical technology or related field, leadership experience, and certification; you will oversee QA, train staff, coordinate POCT, and work with regulatory bodies to maintain quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent: Required
• Five years' clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
• Two years' leadership experience: Preferred
• ASCP or NCA certification: Preferred
• ASCP or MT-AMT certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Oversees all laboratory testing and coordinates all point of care testing (POCT). Reviews and evaluates the validity and accuracy of test results. Functions as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist when needed. Conducts training programs on instrumentation, technology and procedure as needed.
• Establishes the laboratory’s test performance characteristics, including precision, accuracy, reference ranges and reportable ranges.
• Evaluates new developments in laboratory instrumentation, procedures, reagents and automation for possible implementation. Acts as a liaison to other departments to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration to ensure proper operation. Oversees quality control and compliance with CLIA, FDA, CAP, JC, AABB, and OSHA requirements.
• Manages staffing, promotions, reassignment, recognition of outstanding performance, and training programs for staff.
