Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Senior Clinical Director (Senior Principal Scientist) to lead strategic planning and execution of late-stage clinical programs in Immunology.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MD-PhD or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical and/or development experience in pharma/academic settings.
• Experience in design and execution of phase 2/3 trials in rheumatologic diseases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and directing clinical research for investigational compounds in Immunology.
• Oversee trial design, initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory filing and publication.
• Supervise clinical scientists and collaborate with cross-functional teams across commercialization, regulatory, statistics, and manufacturing.
• Maintain current scientific knowledge and identify strong investigators for collaboration.
• Travel ~20% of the time to manage projects.
