Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a research informatics professional to optimize clinical trial initiation across the institution. The role coordinates access to informatics tools, ensures IRB/HIPAA compliance, and partners with researchers to deliver computable phenotypes for feasibility and cohort discovery.

You will lead training, support end users, and contribute to upgrades and enterprise projects, driving efficiency and better resource use in clinical research workflows.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computers, web-based user interfaces, health care data, clinical research databases.
• Understanding of clinical trial recruitment, IRB and HIPAA compliance, and data security.
• Customer support, systems analysis, troubleshooting, problem solving, and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Translates sponsor and investigator requirements into actionable knowledge.
• Acts as liaison between research teams and biomedical informatics staff for computable phenotypes.
• Evaluates clinical trial requirements, ensures IRB compliance, and decides on project feasibility.
• Coordinates intake for informatics systems access and day-to-day department activities.
• Monitors process efficiency metrics and reports project status to stakeholders.
• Leads end-user training and support; participates in upgrades and testing.
