Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Clinical Consultant to serve as the primary clinical liaison for complex client accounts, delivering expert formulary and program guidance from a remote location across the United States.

You will support clinical operations, account management, and cross-functional teams while maintaining strategic client relationships and driving program adoption. A pharmacist degree and PBM experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Active, unrestricted US state-specific pharmacist license.
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of PBM experience.
• 3+ years of client facing or clinical account management experience.
• 2+ years of experience providing formal client presentations.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Experience prioritizing customer-centric activities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior clinical consultation and account management focused on client satisfaction and trend management.
• Collaborate with clients to set actionable clinical program goals and improvement targets.
• Communicate drug information and respond to plan-specific inquiries.
• Stay aware of clinical market intelligence for clients.
• Identify opportunities for clinical program upsell.
• Incorporate guidelines into client presentations and changes.
• Explain formulary and program changes clearly to clients.
• Lead and manage ongoing contract relationships and PBM analysis.
• Mentor new Clinical Consultants and support leadership tasks.
