Job summary

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Senior Clinical Consultant to lead clinical program delivery for large accounts. You will provide expert pharmacy guidance, drive formulary and program changes, and collaborate with account teams to exceed client expectations.

You will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., travel up to 10% as needed, and support a broad portfolio of PBM clients with a focus on health outcomes and cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Active, unrestricted US state pharmacist license.
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of PBM experience.
• 3+ years of client facing or clinical account management experience.
• 2+ years of experience providing formal client presentations.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior clinical consultation and account management with a focus on client satisfaction, retention, and trend management.
• Collaborate with clients to set achievable but aggressive clinical program goals and improvements.
• Communicate drug information to clients and respond to plan-specific inquiries.
• Stay aware of clinical market intelligence and opportunities for program upsell.
• Lead and manage ongoing contract relationships and PBM consultation delivery.
• Mentor new clinical consultants and share best practices across teams.
