Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Clinical Consultant to act as the primary liaison among OptumRx clinical operations, professional practice, and client-specific programs. You will provide proactive clinical recommendations, manage relationships with large clients, and coordinate with internal teams to implement initiatives.

This role supports remote work from anywhere in the U.S. and requires strong pharmacy expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Active, unrestricted US state-specific pharmacist license.
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of PBM experience.
• 3+ years of client facing or clinical account management experience.
• 2+ years of experience providing formal client presentations.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior clinical consultation and clinical account management with a focus on client satisfaction, retention, and trend management.
• Collaborate with clients to establish clinical program goals and improvements.
• Communicate drug information to clients and respond to plan-specific clinical inquiries.
• Stay aware of clinical market intelligence and apply it to client needs.
• Identify opportunities for clinical program up-sell and lead initiatives.
• Deliver clinically sound and fiscally responsible recommendations based on data and trends.
• Lead and manage client quarterly reviews with account management teams.
• Assist in development and training of Clinical Consultants.
