Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (Senior Clinical Advisor) to support the Nurse Manager in administrative duties and guide the perioperative team in delivering best clinical practices.

The Intermediate Care Unit provides high-acuity care; the role includes supervising staff, hiring and performance management, and advancing safety and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• CT RN license required.
• 2+ years in Intermediate Care/Step Down nursing preferred.
• 1+ year of management or supervisory experience preferred (e.g., charge nurse).

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit personnel and maintain a safe, efficient nursing environment.
• Supervise charge nurses and frontline staff, coordinate scheduling and throughput.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and staff development.
• Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Lead by example, fostering respectful communication and collaboration.
